Questions to Ask Yourself:
~ How have you seen feminist ideals affect women in the way they...
- Dress?
- Act?
- Make decisions?

~ What are some of the most noticeable ways you see young women turning away from biblical womanhood?

~ What biblical principles of womanhood strike you as stifling or repressive?  Why do you think you feel that way?

~ As you continue to read, offer your concerns about this issue to the Lord in prayer.  Ask Him to use this time to answer your concerns and reaffirm His priorities for you in this area.

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. ... God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
~ Genesis 1:27, 31

Mark of Importance on Women:1.) Good because they bore His image
2.) Necessary in the achievement of His purposes on earth

Christ Demonstrated His Regard for Women and Their Inherent Value:There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
~ John 4:7

Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
~ John 4:10
From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.”
~ John 4:39

God's Word should cause to take a stand for the biblical role of womanhood in amoral culture, because God says woman are:
~ Good
~ Necessary
~ Important
~ Worthy
~ Trustworthy

It's God's chosen way for women to relate to Him as Creator and Father and to demonstrate, along with women's male counterparts, the unfolding love story of Christ's relationship with the Church:
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body. FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.
~ Ephesians 5:22-31

Questions to Ask Yourself:
~ Choose one of the many roles you currently play in your life, and record for each one how you are...
- good for it
- necessary to it
- an important component of it
- worthy to be a part of it
- trustworthy to fulfill your role in it

~ In what situations and around which people do you find the biblical value of womanhood most challenged and questioned?

~ How do you raise daughters to be ambitious, educated, and sure of themselves while at the same time help them appreciate the rewards and blessings of submission?  How do you raise boys to view women with similarly high regard?  Discuss with friends some creative approaches.

Examples of Submission:
- The employee, whether male or female, must submit to his or her employer
Slaves, in all things obey those who are your masters on earth, not with external service, as those who merely please men, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.
~ Colossians 3:22

- The citizen, whether male or female, must submit to the governmental authority
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority,
~ 1 Peter 2:13

- The believer, whether male or female, must submit to spiritual authority
You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
~ 1 Peter 5:5

- The child, whether male or female, must submit to the parent
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
~ Ephesians 6:1

- And yes, the wife must submit to the leadership of her husband
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.
~ Ephesians 5:22-23

The most powerful Man ever to walk the earth demonstrated the important of authority of a God-given leadership principle:
Who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
~ Philippians 2:6-8

Review:
In preparation for signing your second resolution, read this statement again: "A woman's strength is best seen not in the demonstration of her power but in her ability to harness it under the authority of God-given leadership."  Consider it carefully and determine what it will look like when fleshed out in your life.  Make this resolution with confidence, knowing that you are choosing to align yourself under His all-wise plans.  Enter with freedom and sign your name to signify your commitment.

Purposefully Feminine
I will champion God's model for womanhood in the face of a postfeminist culture.  I will teach it to my daughters and encourage its support by my sons.

A Note From Myself:
From this chapter I have learned and will continue learning how to be a model for womanhood in the face of a postfeminist culture.  I am thankful I have women from my church I can look up to in how they go about their life in being submissive to their husbands and how they are raising up their children.  Being single I can prepare myself for a future family, learning how to be submissive and humble like Jesus was.  I pray I will change where those can see a difference in me being the biblical woman being a role model for God!
